Innovating Injection Mouldings with a new Medical Client
At BSA Mouldings, we are proud to continue expanding our work across the medical and healthcare sectors through a new collaboration with a leading provider of mobility solutions and independence aids.
Our engineering and tooling teams are currently working closely with our client to develop bespoke injection mould designs for an innovative new range of high-specification medical shower seats.
Designing components for personal care demands the absolute highest manufacturing precision. Medical shower seats must offer uncompromised structural strength, user comfort, and flawless non-porous surface finishes capable of withstanding rigorous daily sanitisation. Achieving these standards requires meticulous attention to component geometry and material performance right from the outset.
To ensure seamless production, our team began with a comprehensive Design for Manufacture (DFM) stage. By collaborating early on part geometry, wall thickness consistency, rib reinforcements, and gate placements, we are eliminating potential defects such as sink marks or warping before tooling steel is cut. This detailed upfront planning guarantees both tool longevity and optimal cycle times.
This high-precision project leverages our full end-to-end capabilities, backed by recent investments in large-tonnage machinery and expanded operations at our King’s Lynn facility. Operating under strict ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, BSA Mouldings is fully equipped to handle complex healthcare tooling projects from initial simulation through to full-scale production.
